About University
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar was established in 1987. It is a formerly Regional Engineering College which is a public engineering institute located in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. It is one of the 31 NIT of India. It was founded as a joint venture between the govts. of Punjab & India, originally under the name Punjab Regional Engg. College, Jalandhar (PREC). The Institute offers BTech, MTech, MSc, MBA & Ph.D. programs in the several disciplines of Engineering, Technology & Sciences.
The University campus is widespread over an area of 154 acres. It has many physical features, various buildings of different nature with clean & wide roads surrounded by a green belt. The institute was ranked 113 among the engineering colleges in 2019 NIRF Rankings. During the even semester A cultural fest that is conducted, which aims at taking out the creative side of the students on campus. There are badminton courts, volleyball courts, and special reading rooms which provide a good environment in the hostels.
